Is there an app that can pull photos AI metadata from apple photos? Photos now has Duplicate finding and merge, so I no longer need to use PowerPhotos. Typical to Apple, Photos has slowly improved over time. Apple dropped Aperture and rebuilt Photos to include features from Aperture such as Metadata, Folders, Keyword Management, Edit Tools, and Raw photos. can anyone help me where to find it.?Īpertue was built from Photos but given the interface of Final Cut Pro. In fact, I was recently looking for an app to help me detect duplicates in Apple Photos after thousands of images accidentally got merged into my library, and discovered Gemini 2 through a Google search, not Mac Paw pushing it on me. If you are looking for deleting duplicate files, Gemini 2 has been solid for me. The first law of thermodynamics is a version of the law of conservation of energy. There is a scientific consensus that perpetual motion in an isolated system violates either the first law of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, or both. However, these do not constitute perpetual motion machines in the traditional sense or violate thermodynamic laws because they are in their quantum ground state, so no energy can be extracted from them they exhibit motion without energy. In 2016, new states of matter, time crystals, were discovered in which on a microscopic scale the component atoms are in continual repetitive motion, thus satisfying the literal definition of "perpetual motion". A common example is devices powered by ocean currents, whose energy is ultimately derived from the Sun, which itself will eventually burn out. Thus, machines that extract energy from finite sources will not operate indefinitely, because they are driven by the energy stored in the source, which will eventually be exhausted. For example, the motions and rotations of celestial bodies such as planets may appear perpetual, but are actually subject to many processes that slowly dissipate their kinetic energy, such as solar wind, interstellar medium resistance, gravitational radiation and thermal radiation, so they will not keep moving forever. These laws of thermodynamics apply regardless of the size of the system. This kind of machine is impossible, as it would violate either the first or second law of thermodynamics, or both. A perpetual motion machine is a hypothetical machine that can do work infinitely without an external energy source. Perpetual motion is the motion of bodies that continues forever in an unperturbed system. Apple’s moved on and it seems you’ll have to as well. You can certainly be disappointed that a free bundled app doesn’t replace one that once cost a couple of hundred dollars, but all that’s going to earn you is frustration. It doesn’t offer Aperture’s organizational powers, brushes, versions, and so on. I would suggest, in the most respectful way possible, that we all get over it. Some people have made the argument that because Apple will no longer support Aperture as well as iPhoto, Photos is a failure because it doesn’t offer all the power of Aperture. Grumble grumble grumble Aperture replacement grumble professionals grumble no substitute grumble grumble!? Sorry, without Yosemite, no Photos for you. But if you want to make the switch you’ll also have to upgrade to Yosemite. And they’ll continue to run perfectly well under the OS you’re currently using. While Apple isn’t going to continue selling new licenses to iPhoto and Aperture, current owners can always re-download the apps should something happen to their original copies. There are things happening under the hood that require Yosemite. Will Apple provide a version of Photos for Mavericks? I’m not using Yosemite and don’t plan to anytime soon. Given all the security and privacy breaches we’ve seen over the past couple of years I’m not sure I’d blame Apple for deciding this feature is just too risky. When using iPhoto on a hotel Wi-Fi network I’ve been able to access another person’s images because they weren’t cautious enough about their sharing settings. That feature isn’t in the beta release I’ve seen and, because of privacy concerns, my guess is that it may never reappear. This tells you that the Finder is fibbing in regard to how much data each library really holds. And yet it works and there’s the Finder proudly displaying two file sizes that exceed the capacity of the image. Given that the disk image can hold just 2.5GB of data-4/5ths of which is already being used by your iPhoto library-you should be told there’s not enough storage to complete the operation. Photos will launch and create a Photos Library archive. Click Other Library and navigate to the iPhoto library on the disk image. Copy your iPhoto library to the disk image and then launch Photos while holding down the Option key. Let’s say that your iPhoto library is 2GB and you create a 2.5GB image. In Disk Utility create a disk image with a capacity 25-percent larger than your iPhoto library. It’s a bit confounding, but you can test it yourself. The Finder simply reflects the size of the library as if it held all the original files, which it isn’t as it’s referencing the original images. But the truth is that it’s not really consuming that amount of space. And the Finder tells us that it’s a bit bigger than the iPhoto library. When you launch Photos and it pulls images from your iPhoto library, a new Photos Library archive appears in the same location as your iPhoto library. The Finder, however, is telling a half-truth. Is it possible to assign a geotag after the fact?Īs you say, the Finder seems to tell us that you’ve doubled the storage requirements necessary to maintain these two libraries. What about applying geotags as I could do with iPhoto’s Places feature. Open the Keyword Manager to easily assign ratings to your images with a click or key press. To assign a rating all I have to do is open the Keyword Manager window, select an image (or group of images), and press the appropriate number key to assign the rating. In my case, because the first five keywords I assigned were 1 Star, 2 Star, 3 Star, 4 Star, and 5 Star, they were assigned numbers 1 – 5. When you do this, these keywords are automatically assigned number key shortcuts. You might, therefore, add 1 Star, 2 Star, and so on. Photos has a Keyword Manager window where you can add keywords. You can continue to create smart albums based on rating.īut that means I can no longer easily assign a rating by typing a keyboard shortcut!Īctually you can, but it takes just a little finagling. If you’d like to gather together all the images that you’ve assigned a particular rating, you can do so by creating a smart album using that keyword search as its condition. Although you can no longer sort by the star character, you can perform a keyword search by entering 2 Star or the like. When it does so, it turns them into keywords along the lines of 1 Star, 2 Star, 3 Star, and so on. While it’s true that star ratings have been replaced by Photos’ on/off Favorite feature, Photos does import star ratings from your iPhoto library. Thanks for reporting it if someone else has the same issue, we will get more clues. This is my thought process on identifying the issue. So far no one else has reported this issue. But in your case, the thing that is unusual is that you were using beta software, additional security software, plus an OS that has been public for only 4 days…. If my uploaded used some non standard code, or if I had changed the code (haven’t changed this part of the code since 2015), then I’d think my website has an issue. I do not know if it was an OS security update or Safari itself that caused the issue - but it sounds like they are having a similar issue again. It took Apple 2 Safari iterations to fix. Like I said, Apple had this issue last year and you can search the web for all sorts of complaints about it during that time. Safari Technology Preview release 134 includes bug fixes and performance improvements for Web Inspector, CSS, CSS Font Loading API, Scrolling, Rendering, Dialog Element, WebAssembly. It is most likely a problem with a security update or maybe the software you are referring to. This is not a problem with my website(or the other websites you try). You will notice that any website that has a file upload is going to give you the same problem. You can see it is very standard if you look at the code. In addition to 120Hz support, the latest Safari Technology Preview includes fixes and additions to Web Inspector and Web Driver, CSS updates, Web API changes including lazy image loading, a. Apple on Thursday released Safari Technology Preview 109, the latest version of their developer preview web browser. Here is a historical post when we saw this same problem with Safari last year. perhaps you could write to Apple directly and have them fix the bug? That would be more helpful, since this is a bug with the browser, not the tool. Since you're using an experimental browser, my guess is that they will eventually resolve this issue. I spent a lot of time writing a work-around to this bug in Safari. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future releases of Safari. Last year, Safari introduced a bug that persisted for several weeks ( Check out Version 8.5 ): I see you are using an experimental Safari Browser. Both groups demonstrated lower rates of asymptomatic DVT with compression stockings, but those in the high-risk population experienced a greater benefit. Benefits of Compression Socks for Flight Attendants Nurse Yard’s compression socks for flight attendants help blood flow evenly through the legs and feet, relieving soreness and ensuring blood flows back to the heart as it should. Presence of DVT was assessed by ultrasonography or d-dimer and fibrinogen testing. The follow-up period was immediately postflight through 48 hours postflight. Two of the trials studied patients considered to be at high risk of DVT (i.e., those with obesity, prior DVT, recent cancer history, coagulopathy, or reduced mobility), whereas seven trials included individuals at low or medium risk. The authors also noted an unclear risk of selection bias-the majority of trials did not include sufficient information on the randomization methods. According to the Mayo Clinic, 'Compression stockings steadily squeeze your legs, helping your veins and leg muscles move blood more efficiently. Compression socks offer a range of benefits for frequent flyers and first-time travelers alike. When you wear compression socks, you boost the blood flow in your legs. 1 The majority of these trials were conducted in the United Kingdom. Poor circulation in the lower extremities is often an issue for people who sit for long hours whether at work, on airplanes or just watching TV. But while the details are critical in building your nation from the ground up (literally), they are manageable with the game's interface, which allows you to select and focus on the issues you find important, leaving the AI to manage the rest. And diplomacy is a skill you will have to master. You have to worry about everything-money, food, technology, religion, annoying or dangerous neighbors, etc. The complex issues affecting the evolution of any civilization are convincingly simulated in this game. If you can wait until then, then you will probably thank yourself later. I suspect that another version will be following on the heels of this one that will clean up the playability issues. It is still fun to play and the new features are interesting, but I often found myself going back to playing the previous version instead. The whole look and feel of the game interface has changed: better in terms of sexy animated graphics, worse in terms of playability. While some of the drudgery of empire management have been streamlined or elimiated, managing production and resources are actually more cumbersome. There are some new features that are great- such as religion, new resources and battle experience upgrades, but playability suffers from confusing informational graphics (terrain is difficult to discern without the resource icons turned on and the screen graphics become confusingly cluttered when they are turned on) and poor informaional display organization. I've played all the Civilization versions over the years and this is my least favorite "improved" version. In all, Civilization IV is designed to offer players a game world of unprecedented sophistication and realism, whether they aim to win it through warfare or culture. More than one leader character is available for many of the traditional opponent nations, and the game will play differently depending on who is in charge of rival empires. The religion model offers more customization as well, and players can now better use the power of faith to spread their culture, or they can choose to have no state religion at all, boosting scientific endeavors.Combat has been enhanced in Civ IV, to give more individuality to veteran units and to balance away occasional historical mismatches sometimes noticed in earlier editions of Civ. The tech tree remains the roadmap to scientific and industrial advancement, but there is now more than one path to milestone discoveries. A true living legend of computer game design, Sid Meier invites strategists to conquer the world all over again, in this fourth edition in the influential Civilization series. Many of the most significant additions to this version of Civilization involve customization. Now.I can calmly wait until the release of Civ V.From humble beginnings as a prehistoric tribe of hunters and gatherers, to a far-flung future of extra-terrestrial colonization, players lead their people to dominate Earth and beyond in this era-spanning game of empire-building. If you like it (odds are you will), then grab the Complete Edition. If you're new to the Civilization series, I suggest borrowing it from someone who has it.try it. Overall, I'd say that if you're a Civ fan and don't want to wait until Civ 5 is released, then get Civ 4: Complete Ed. A single game can vary from a solid hour or so to several hours of non-stop play. If you're new to the Civilization series, then a simple summary of this game is that it's a turn-based strategy game where you are charged with leading a civilization through various eras through time in an attempt to keep your civilization alive and dominate the world through the use of intellectual discoveries, religion, governments, armies, diplomacy, etc. The level of game challenge customization seems limitless since you have over 11 different cultures to choose from, infinite maps, the ability to make alterations through the World Builder, and basic trading of goods and discoveries, let alone the micro-management for those of us that are ultra-geeky. Fans of the previous Civilization games will love this version (especially since it combines everything onto one DVD). Granted, this game is very graphics intensive, so make sure that your desktop or laptop has the hardware to run it. Game play itself is stellar, and the random events (e.g., earthquakes, floods, intercultural marriage invitations) adds yet another bit of complexity that helps round the game out. The game loaded perfectly without any hiccups. I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium 圆4 edition on an HP Pavilion dv6 w/ 4GB RAM and 640GB hard drive, w/ an ATI 5650 laptop video card. I expected 3 separate CDs or DVDs, but the original Civ 4, Warlords expansion pack, and Beyond the Sword expansion pack were all on a single DVD. So after reading the reviews for the two expansion packs, I opted to purchase the complete version. Let's see, I have the original Civ 4 which I loved. |
